Foggy like pea soup. Nice. I thought I might be able to catch some cool RR action in the weather. This was descent. Watching engines go by without any cars always reminds me of model railroading as a kid.

This was taken along my favorite piece of rail line through town. I was with my son and wife. To the east is a factory and the downtown yards. To the west is a farm land and some thick forest. Residences line these tracks, too, with some back yards less than 10 feet away from the line. I want to catch the Amtrak through here before long.

October 11, 2006 - 100th Post!

My day started quickly. The gates dropped as soon as I pulled up. This is a short local going west.


This is my dream back yard. 10 feet away from the line! I walked the line today about 1 mile total.

My favorite crossing in town. One of the few remaining crossing gates in the city. This crossing comes up almost out nowhere.


Next to a little alcove trackside that had a little bench and a ladder. kind oif like a little clubhouse.


Shot downtown, and in the cold. Blustery...

I'm trying to shoot mostly in black and white this week. I found this little gem of unwanted cast-offs in the rails that run throught the campus I work in.

Taking 3 days off from work, starting today! Yay!

Played horseshoes for the first time in probably 20 years today. Me and my partenr Tim man-handled our competition, Mark adn Dan. We won two in a row, 11-6, 11-0.
